Way off-topic: Blink (prng.net)

Weeping Angel from Doctor Who

Artist’s rendition of Google sneaking up on the Web.

I kid, I kid. But this list is amusing anyway. I figure this is just another stop on the road from Tech being something to be excited about, to being something else I would like to see burn. I’m pretty close at this point to giving up my quiet ambition of my own little partially exposed database of writing here at dumbland.net, and just building a site on Squarespace.

Next version of Premiere Pro to have new features (provideocoalition.com)

Shocking, I know. More details to follow at NAB2013.

I have Premiere Pro CS6, because it was in the bundle with Photoshop and After Effects, but I haven’t used it much. I figure that if switching to Avid Media Composer doesn’t work out, or if FCP7 magically stops working, it’s always there. Nice to see Adobe pushing to make it even better.

ProCutX free for a limited time (nofilmschool.com)

ProCutX by Pixel Film Studios is free for a limited time, down from around AU$20 or so. It’s billed as a control surface for Final Cut Pro X which runs on your iPad. You run a “server” app on your Mac, connect the iPad app to it and you’re ready to go.

It’s interesting as a novelty, but it’s much less responsive than just using regular keyboard shortcuts. As an indicator of where things could go in future with more official support however, it’s interesting.
